All about Mrs. Phillips
Welcome to our class website!
My name is Crystal Phillips, and I am a 5th and 6th
grade resource teacher. This is my tenth year teaching at Radney
Elementary, and I must say that I really love it! I graduated from the
University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!) with a B.S. in Education specializing in the
Multiple Abilities Program. This degree certifies me to teach Elementary
Education, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education. I later received a
Master's Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Teaching and Learning with
a Specialization in Reading. In addition
to my role as a resource teacher and special education case manager, I am also
a Radney Drama Club sponsor. Teaching drama is loads of fun and allows me to
work with children in a completely different light. I enjoy helping students
explore hidden talents and foster development of inner confidence.
I truly believe that teaching is my calling! It is definitely a passion for me. I am so excited about the students I have this year! I am very lucky to have such a great group of children. I know that we will have a wonderful year as we learn from one another in a collaborative environment. I love each and every one of my students and enjoy helping them build independence and progress towards life as an adult.
I think God every single day for my amazing family. I absolutely love being a wife and mommy. I have been married for 8 years to a wonderful husband, Brandon. I have three incredible children! My newest addition is Lucy who is 2 years old. Next up is Brayden who will be 4 years old soon. The oldest is my step daughter, Emma, who is in 5th grade. I enjoy spending time with my family and making the best of the life I have been given. My philosophy about life is to choose to live! I feel like life is all about choices. In every situation, there is a choice to be made. You are able to choose how you react to every situation. I strive to help my students choose to live.
